A quarters for patient attendants has been constructed in the premises of Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital at Khajura, Banke. The building for patient attendants was constructed with financial assistance of Lions Club of International Foundation and Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital.

Lions International provided Rs 11.15 million while the hospital pledged Rs 3.76 million for the same, said Chairperson of Lions Club of Nepalgunj, Krishna Bhandari. The compulsion of the attendants to patients for staying in hotels would be ended once the quarters come into operation. It has 15 rooms.

Meanwhile, activities to bring the most awaited LINAC Machine into operation have reached final phase at the hospital. The LINAC is the device most commonly used for external beam radiation treatment for cancer patients.

The cancer patients here are compelled to visit Bharatpur Cancer Hospital and Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital for the service in lack of such machine. A team comprising 20 specialist doctors has been providing health treatment service in the hospital.
